Call to Action

Podcast Highlights-In this time of civil unrest and pandemic with millions of African Americans unemployed, I’m using my platform to call attention to Black Economics in America. For far too long Corporate America has had its knee on the neck of the black economy using its power and financial resources to keep blacks from rising economically. The African American Community generates hundreds of millions of dollars for the entertainment industry, in particular with its influential, talented entertainers. Black people in America have always wanted to build their own economic base in music, film, and television production & distribution. Any artist who has accumulated great wealth and had the vision to take matters into their own hands has been met with opposition from the major players in entertainment.

Every time African Americans build a great foundation in entertainment, it always seems to fall from the grip of their power. For instance, Berry Gordy Jr., the mastermind of Motown Records one of the most massive Black-owned independent record labels sold out to Universal Music Group. Black Entertainment Television (BET), in its early days, reached more than seventy-five million African American households on cable television as an independent broadcasting network, sold out to Viacom. It’s time for these strong power bases created by African Americas to stay in the black community. African American investors and moneymakers also have to make sure these proprieties remain in the control of the Black Economy. This episode #12 of the Podcast Sura Khan’s whispers of wisdom touches on this matter in a way to get the attention of African American business owners and investors and encourage them to work together to build this new economic base. We are also encouraging Corporate America not to stand in the way of this progress and simply stand down.

Podcast Episode #6 Media Mogul Byron Allen Law Suite

Featured

Podcast on: Byron AllenByron Allen & Sura Khan

Sura Khan takes listeners into the center of this historic case with Byron Allen.  Said to threaten the Civil Rights of more than 100 Million Americans, particularly African Americans.

The Podcast program shines a light on Entertainment Studios  and its Chief Executive Officer- Byron Allen. A 20-billion-dollar law suite and fight for economic inclusion against Cable Television Media Giant Comcast and Charter. The Case is now before the United States Supreme Court after a two-time win for Allen in the 9th Circuit Court of appeals. The hearing will be held on November 13, 2019

According to Allen Comcast said “We’re going to take this to the Supreme Court”. African Americans were freed from slavery in December of 1865. Instead of getting reciprocity, 40 acres, and a mule they were given a law that states they will have fare contracting and economic inclusion in government and commercial contracting.  The writers of the Bill understood that the newly freed slaves  the African Americans were not going to be treated fairly in commercial and government contracting. It was essential for them to be integrated into the financial fiber of America. This law was put on the books 153 years ago to make sure African Americans had an economic pathway for economic inclusion which is now being threatened. It’s the very first Civil Rights statute in America. It gave birth to Civil Rights that allowed African Americans to have economic inclusion and the halting of economic genocide.                                                             Byron Allen & Sura Khan
